요약 | This dissertation is composed of three distinct papers, all studying the actions and outcomes of American television producers to explore how historical changes shape the effects of social position on actors' outcomes. The first chapter focuses on television's early years, exploring how producers' development of new types of shows influenced television performers' careers. The second investigates how regulatory changes shape the effects of economic ties on producers' copyright ownership. The final paper studies how changes in producers' status effect their innovativeness. Together, these papers contribute to our understanding of creative and knowledge-based industries and the role of history in the performance of creative entrepreneurs. |
