요약Nursing education is in the midst of an identity crisis, in part due to the need for contemporary pedagogical practices which support health care's rapidly changing landscape. This dissertation documents the experiences of nursing faculty when new media instructional technologies are introduced into their practice environment and the ways in which the technologies are changing their work. The study analyzes how the inclusion of new media instructional technologies are changing nursing education. To answer this question, 15 interviews were conducted with nursing faculty and administration. Through semi-structured interviews, the study draws conclusions about faculty's perspectives on the ways in which new media instructional technologies become integrated into nursing programs, how nursing faculty use these technologies in their work, and the salient changes nursing faculty see within their students when using new media technologies. Overall the results showed that while the use of new media instructional technologies are not indicative of change in terms of institutional records of progress, faculty are seeing enhanced student engagement, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. From an educational perspective, this study demonstrates the shift in nursing education from a curriculum focus to a learner focus to better accommodate the perpetual changes within the nursing profession.
