요약 | Patient portals are recognized as one of the most important tools to solve the challenges of accessing and managing personal health information and support greater patient engagement. The growing aging population could greatly benefit from using patient portals because of the prevalence of chronic conditions and high medication use, and therefore a more pressing need for ongoing health information management and self-management of conditions. However, older adults are lagging behind other age groups on portal enrollment and portal use. One critical barrier to portal adoption is lack of training. Research has shown that older adults desire instructional support for using portals and prior studies have identified portal training as a primary means to reduce barriers to portal adoption among the older adult population as well as the general population |
