요약A first experimental study of the effect on hydrogen production kinetics of aqueous slurry-based aluminum delivery applied to the alkaline corrosion reaction with aqueous sodium hydroxide was conducted. This thermodynamically spontaneous water-splitting reaction was investigated in the present work as a potential zero-emission hydrogen fuel source for portable or water-borne applications. Heterogeneous mass-action-Arrhenius type kinetic models were derived from 48 randomized factorial experiments employing a single continuously stirred temperature controlled reactor at near-ambient conditions which describe the effects of temperature Tr, micron-scale Al powder surface area S, and hydroxide concentration혻C under each of two Al powder delivery modes: initially air-dry, and initially hydrated in an aqueous slurry. The fitted model was of the initial H2 production rate of a reaction, &Vdot
