| 요약 | This dissertation analyses causes and consequences of civil conflict. My first paper evaluates how wartime networks affect participation in criminal activities of former combatants. The second paper of my dissertation studies the mechanism behind the social logic of crime identified in the first paper. The force of this argument stems from the key role that wartime ties play in the decisions to engage in crime after demobilization. I explore the mechanisms behind this social logic of crime using original administrative and survey data collected in Colombia. The last paper of my dissertation studies how people react to the possibility of a peaceful transition doing a field experiment with Twitter users in Colombia. |
