요약 | The Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) is the highest-ranking female involved in the management of an intercollegiate athletic department. The NCAA (2018b) created the SWA position in effort to encourage and promote the involvement of female administrators in the intercollegiate athletic departments' and conference offices' decision-making processes. Despite efforts to include women in athletics, Black women represent only 4.2% of assistant athletic directors (ADs), 4.2% of associate ADs, and 2% of head Ads among NCAA Division I (D-I) intercollegiate athletic departments. A dearth of research exists that has investigated Black women's perspectives with regard to their experiences as senior-level administrators in intercollegiate sport (McDowell & Cunningham, 2009 |
