요약 | Cytochrome P450 1B1 (Cyp1b1) belongs to the Cytochrome P450 family of enzymes. It is expressed in extrahepatic epithelia, ocular tissues and exhibits a developmentally regulated pattern of expression. Recent studies show expression of Cyp1b1 in the neurovascular structures of the central nervous system including astrocytes (AC). Astrocytes have a prominent role in the integrity and function of the central nervous system including modulation of angiogenesis, neurogenesis and maintenance of neuroretinal function. We previously showed that Cyp1b1 expression plays a significant role in retinal vascular development and neovascularization during oxygen-induced ischemic retinopathy (OIR). We also showed that lack of Cyp1b1 expression in retinal endothelial cells and pericytes is associated with increased oxidative stress, sustained activation of NF-觀B, and up-regulation of thrombospondin-2 (TSP2 |
